Anthony DeFranco had a dream. Or, more specifically, he had homework.
For a final project, the School of Visual Arts student decided Union Square didn't have nearly enough bubbles, and used Wed design and organizational skills to bring people out on an almost too-perfect day.
At the start, I noticed a suave, floppy-haired guy ripping film out of a big, black box. "That looks like iaaphoto!" I thought. "No … he's in Georgia. Man, I've been spending too much time reading photo blogs." Of course, it was Ian (or it wouldn't be a very good story). Ah, well.
At the end, a hula-hoop team showed up to perform.
Bubble wars, hula-hoop practices … man, I wish I had a year and a bunch of free cash to sink into an arts-dominated school. But I learned this on the streets.
